Granite beats CCO in semifinal
Granite Tranformation beat Capital City Orthopaedics 95-86 for a spot in the Cap City League championship game.
One thing I have to say about Granite Transformation is that it is two different teams based on whether Josh Young is playing. The Drake guard missed a couple games around the Fourth of July, and Granite really struggled without him. Tonight, though, Young really showed a lot of poise and skill in a league that tends to lack much effort at displaying either of those things.
OK, stats:
Granite: Young 29 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists. Justin Hamilton (ISU) 21 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists. Gabe Knutson (Lehigh) 9 points, 6 rebounds. Charles Boozer (ISU) 21 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists. Tyler Egli (UNC-Pembroke) 10 points, 6 rebounds.
CCO: Jimmie Binnie (Dayton) 23 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists. Ryan Sears (Creighton) 24 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists, 1 steal. Scott Windom (DMACC) 17 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals. Alex White (Drake) 6 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal. LA Pomlee (ISU) 6 points, 6 rebounds.
